On July 19, 2012, Newport Television/High Plains Broadcasting sold WOAI-TV to the Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of KABB and KMYS. Sinclair spun off KMYS to Deerfield Media as part of its acquisition of channel 4.

This logo, especially the "4" peacock combination, is similar to the one used by KNBC in Los Angeles.
